Exercise & Your Skin

So for me with my history of makeup I know a lot about skin care. It is different for everyone. So to start off this blog I have a question for you why do we exercise? Some of you may have said feel good, to be be able to eat more maybe but most people say it's to look good. To me part of looking good is also having good skin. Exercise and helping your body nutritionally is known to help with skin.
However, did you know that exercise can also hurt your skin? It mainly causes breakouts do to oils that come to the skin while we workout but it can also cause dry skin and other skin issues.

So what should you do to help you skin glow? I am going to list the steps below but first I wanted to say what brand you use matters. Have you ever read what is in the facial products you are using? Most are loaded with chemicals. Most of us that exercise try to avoid eating them so why would you put them on your skin? You skin does absorb them. So I suggest always going organic or natural with brands ling 100% Pure, Simple Sugars, etc, etc... That being said lets get to it!

1. Wash your face BEFORE you work out especially if you workout in the morning. Why? You body produces a lot of oils at night and if you are sleeping inside, especially with the windows closed, the air is going to be more polluted. Even if you workout in the afternoon or evening still do not skip this. You have the entire days oil, germs, and bacteria on your face and that can affect your complexion. So when you work up a good sweat your pores open up letting all that crap into them. Oil and dead skin cells add up to more bacteria with equals acne! I suggest using a scrub which Simple Sugars cells or you can make your own. So incase you still don't get it wash your face pre workout!

NOTE: It is important not to wear makeup when you workout just like your shouldn't wear it when you sleep. That is just more stuff to get into your pores. Also when you workout it is important that your skin is able to breathe.

2. Wash your face AFTER you workout. Now you maybe like Woah! I need to was my face when I get up, pre workout, post workout, and before I got to bed. That's up to 4 times a day! Well just calm down. It may seem like a ton but post workout is a little different. Just use a light weight cleanser (witch hazel and water works well). Just to get all the sweat and oil off again. Make sure when your finish to splash your face with cold water to close up your pores and follow up with your daily moisturizer.

Also try to avoid touching your face while working out because your hands get bacteria on them from the equipment.
