GoPicnic

So recently a friend of mine from makeup school posted a photo of her lunch. It was a GoPicnic ready-to-eat-meal. It looked good to me so I decided to go to their website and do some research. I found out that they are nutritionally balanced. On their website it said "Every nutritionally balanced, shelf stable meal combines a satisfying mix of protein, fiber, and fruit, and each bite, from crackers to hummus to applesauce to delectable dark chocolate, is full of wholesome ingredients. To us, that means no trans fats, no high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), no added monosodium glutamate (MSG), and no artificial flavors and colors…. whatsoever." Well that sounds pretty good to me. Some of them contain meat but they do not need to be refrigerated. I was worried that this would involve chemicals or something to keep the food fresh but they said "We rely on excellent ingredients and high performance packaging methods, not chemicals and artificial preservatives, to keep products fresh and at the height of their quality and taste for an extended period of time without refrigeration." By this point I was already sold. However they also offer GoPicnic meals in vegan, gluten-free, kosher, and vegetarian! Each meal has 5 packaged items in it too.

Now that all sounds really good but how do they taste? I am going to write a review on all the GoPicnic meals I try! They are numbered in the order I tried them. (click the example meal photo for links on where to buy them!)

1.Turkey Pepperoni & Cheese.
~Gluten-Free, No Artificial Colors, No Artificial Flavors
Rating: A-

I loved this meal! I am always down to eat some cheese and crackers with pepperoni though! I have two complaints one was that the pepperoni was greasy so I had to blot it with a paper towel but once I did that it was amazing! My second complaint was that they whole meal had a lot of sodium. I also loved the sweet dried fruit to balance out the spicy from the pepperoni. & toffee for dessert who can go wrong with that?!

2.Almond Butter & Crackers
~Gluten-Free, Vegan, All Natural, No Artificial Colors, No Artificial Flavors & Non GMO Project Verified.
Rating: A

My taste buds were in heaven with this meal! It's only downfall was the amount of sugar but I still loved it. I love fruit and nut bars so that was awesome to start with! Then I moved onto to almond butter and crackers. Again I love crackers with any kind of spread. The almond butter was really good however really make sure you message the packaging to mix it up or it will be insanely watery. It also isn't the easiest to squeeze out of the packaging but I like to have something time consuming to do while I eat. To me it makes it more worth while and more rewarding. I also eat slower. My favorite part of the package was that there were gummies and cookies to truly satisfy my sweet tooth! It was the perfect way to end my lunch!

3.Hummus & Crackers
~Gluten-Free, Vegan, Kosher, All-Natural, No Artificial Colors, No Artificial Flavors
Rating: B+

So to me this meal was good just like all the rest just make sure you have a drink nearby. Between the hummus, crackers, & all the nuts it dried out my mouth. A lot of it tasted very similar so I didn't get as much of a flavor mix up in this box so that is why I only gave it a rating of a B+. The hummus was really tasty but followed but the seed blend I was guzzling my water. However there are positives to this meal. It had more protein then the ones I have tried before. I also am in love with the fruit & nut mix that is included in this box. It by far was my favorite thing in the package. The dark chocolate with sea salt was good but it doesn't look as pictured. The salt is inside of the chocolate not on top but it tastes amazing. If you are craving salt this is perfect for you. It has less sodium then the Turkey Bacon & Crackers but I feel as though there was more salt spread out throughout the meal.
